Get hands-on experience in laboratory animal care.
Under the guidance of the animal facility supervisor, students in Laboratory Animal Practicum will perform all tasks necessary to provide animal care in a facility and program accredited by the Association for the Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care.
Dr. Uzumcu is highly experienced in the field of Laboratory Animal Science. His research utilizes in vivo (e.g. rats and mice) and in vitro models (e.g., cell and organ culture) as well as physiological, cellular, and molecular approaches to improve our understanding of mammalian gonad and the roles of local growth factors.
This course fulfills the Experience-Based Education requirement for Animal Science majors and minors.
