New! Procurement and Global Sourcing Strategy
This new winter course will provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the purchasing function within the competitive global business environment.
In today's competitive global business environment, a company's success is often linked to the effectiveness and efficiency of its purchasing function. Procurement organizations within a company create and manage the fundamental supply linkages and relationships from upstream suppliers to end user consumers. Superior procurement and sourcing processes can provide increased shareholder returns of up to 15% while improving the level of service to customers. Students will learn both strategic and tactical concepts for the effective and efficient procurement of goods and services needed by a business to meet the needs of its end user customers.
This is a required course as part of the Supply Chain Management major undergraduate curriculum at the Rutgers Business School.
