New Winter Graduate Course: Topics: Crisis Communication
In this new, online graduate-level course, students will learn the key elements of risk and crisis management, as well as their roles in any ongoing, proactive crisis communication process.
Students will be able to use the course professionally since it is taught from a learn it today, and apply it tomorrow approach. Though fully online, the class will feature a dynamic discussion environment where the instructor and students can interact and engage in multiple discussions.
The course will highlight best practices as well as foster learning from mistakes in poorly managed crisis situations.
Although this is not a core requirement, this course is an accepted elective for the SC&I, MCIS and MI programs and may be an elective in other Rutgers' masters programs.
The course's instructor, Dr. Richard Dool, has an extensive academic resume with a Doctorate in Management, MS in Management and a MA in Strategic Communication and Leadership. Additionally he has an active consulting practice that advises leaders and firms on strategic communication and organization renewals including the management of crisis situations. His background includes rescuing a company from near bankruptcy, leading the acquisition or divestiture of 11 companies and effectively managing companies in the US, UK, China, Brazil, Germany, France, India and Australia.
